Over the past 25 years, Mainsail's Management team has worked within the senior housing and medical industries. Through time and experience, Mainsail began developing its unique approach in senior housing by taking the existing senior housing business model and deconstructing it into its core “needs.” We then restructured the senior housing business model by developing the structure that should be applied to this industry. The new model is based on the needs of the client. The setting for senior housing is optimal if delivered from a hospitality perspective.

 

To complement the senior housing business, Mainsail realized that addressing medical needs was a crucial element of the quality of life for a resident. We noted that almost all the residents suffered from at least one chronic condition, with many having three or more chronic conditions. The most common medical conditions related to prescription medications; mental state; physical therapy; direct contact nursing assistance and constant monitoring for changes in condition. We addressed these elements by investing in specific medical services to bring in these elements as part of the core business model. Mainsail has invested in a pharmacy; a physical therapy business; a home health business; and a medical management business. Together, these lines of business provide all the resources for our aging clients needs in a single setting that is secure and comfortable.
