DirectMed Health Services is a Health Delivery Organization and medical support company that coordinates the delivery of medical services and the maintenance of appropriate facilities; as well as procedural implementation of: service, billing, insurance, training and other elements; to ensure that proper and adequate medical care and services are delivered. The company also operates a staff training and certification program together with relevant educational institutions.

DirectMed delivers care to residents of a congregate care community (CCC) in conjunction with a medical practice, this is accomplished by maintaining a medical center capability at the CCC; staffing the medical center with appropriate staff to administer medical care to the residents and integrating the medical center staff with an interdisciplinary team comprising one or more facility caregivers and third-party caregivers for the care not provided by the medical center staff.
Overall, the DirectMed approach provides more cost-efficient, streamlined, and integrated care at an assisted living residential care facility level. DirectMed provides for higher acuity care for residents with complex medical needs. The services allow for residents to stay at the facility, lessening transfer to other skilled nursing facilities, nursing homes, or hospitals; thereby achieving a better outcome of care, decreased disorientation, and decreased medication error. The services may also decrease risk associated with running a facility, allowing aging residents to remain on-site as they are cared for throughout the continuum of their care, which now may include inevitable medical complexity, progressive dementia, and life-limiting illness requiring hospice and palliative care.
